“The theme of this exhibit came from a desire to showcase the collective exploration of spirit whether it be a literal interpretation as in sitting atop a skyscraper to capture the perfect, albeit terrifying, photograph or symbolic with a look into the musings of an abstract painter or a humorous illustrator. We try to do at least one juried exhibit a year to offer artists a platform to not only have their work shown but to meet other creatives. Katy’s Courage Presents: Weekend Of Events For A Good Cause

Katy’s Courage (www.katyscourage.org) is hosting a weekend of events for a good cause from Saturday, February 29 through Sunday, March 1.

The weekend will begin with Love Bites the annual tasting event to benefit Katy’s Courage.

Love Bites will held on February 29 from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Bridgehampton Community House (2368 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton, NY 11932). Sponsors for this year’s event include The Independent, East End Wedding and Events, The Press News Group, Decco by Party Up Productions, Cellier Wine Distributors and Designs by Mark Masone. Tickets cost $75 per person, or two for $125 and can be purchased at https://bit.ly/37S27gU. Proceeds will benefit Katy’s Courage. The event will feature music by DJ Michael of East End Entertainment, a silent auction, Golfer’s Ultimate Dream Raffle and tastes from over 20 recognized chefs and restaurants, including:

The weekend will continue on Sunday, March 1 at the ninth annual skate-a-thon at Buckskill Winter Club (178 Buckskill Road, East Hampton, NY 11937, 631-324-2243 www.buckskillwinterclub.com ) beginning at 3 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Katy’s Courage. Throughout the day, participants may stop by the annual bake sale for treats. Pre-registration for the hockey game is required and participants may register at Buckskill Winter Club or by calling the rink directly at 631-324-2243. A schedule of events for the day, subject to change, includes:

12:15 to 1:15 p.m. – Learn to Skate Class

1:15 to 2:45 p.m. – Public Skating

3 to 3:15 p.m. – Puck Throw

3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Ice Show

4:45 to 5:45 p.m. – Skate-A-Thon

6 p.m. – Raffle Drawing

6 to 7:30 p.m. – Hockey Game

Katy’s Courage is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization honoring Katy Stewart, an inspirational 12-year-old girl who died from a rare form of pediatric liver cancer. The organization is dedicated to supporting education, children’s bereavement support and pediatric cancer research through multiple fundraising events.
