Bermuda Bikes was founded in 1978 and has been under the same ownership ever since. We are members of the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, theNational Bicycle Dealers Association and I.M.B.A. The owners, Kent and Pam McDonald, are graduates of the Barnett Bicycle Institute’s Mechanics Certification Program. This is the premier bicycle mechanics program in the United States and the knowledge we’ve gained at Barnett enables us to to offer the most professional and reliable service on the East End. Kent also worked as a mechanic for the United States Olympic Team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His love of bicycles has continued to grow since he won his first bike race back in 1961 and the tender young age of 13. Both our service manager and sales manager are graduates of Barnett. Our mission is to provide you with the exemplary customer service whether you are purchasing a new bike or coming in for a flat repair. We value your feedback.
We have been featured by Joan Hamburg on WOR radio as well as the East Hampton Star as a store known for its dedication to customer service. Kent has written service articles for bicycle trade magazines such as Bicycle Dealer Showcase. Our bicycle rentals have been recommended by several European travel magazines. We have also been chosen by manufacturers such as DuPont and KMC chains to field test their products.
Bermuda Bikes has made a commitment to supporting local charities, too. Over the years we have donated bicycles and repair service to such organizations as Boys Harbor, East Hampton Village PBA, the Retreat, the Nature Conservancy, the Hayground School, Podell House, Toys For Tots, WLIW and many more.
Thanks to the continued loyalty of our customers, our business has continued to grow every year. We have made it a priority to offer you the latest advancements in bicycles and accessories with true customer service. Please let us know if you have an idea about any additional products you think we should carry.
