Event Website and to Buy Tickets

Check out the East Coast Premiere By Emmy Award-winning writer Rick Cleveland (Six Feet Under, The West Wing, and House of Cards). Directed by Mark Clements This production was originally produced at the Arizona Theatre Company and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. This funny and incisive new drama is about the meeting of America’s most exclusive club – the ex-presidents. Obliged to gather together on the day of Richard Nixon’s funeral, four “exes” and one “current” vent frustrations, revisit old grievances, and reveal the toll that it takes on any person foolish enough to seek the highest office in the land. Haydn’s The Creation
Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 7pm
Parish Hall, Most Holy Trinity Church, East Hampton
Mark Mangini, Conductor
With The Greenwich Village Chamber Singers
Alison Davy, Soprano
Nils Neubert,Tenor
Dominic Inferrera, Baritone
Enrico Lagasca, Bass

Brimming with the composer’s characteristic optimism, The Creation is Franz Joseph Haydn’s musical representation of the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis and Milton’s Paradise Lost. It also contains some of the most experimental music of the time.

The sun, moon, seas, plants, animals, and humankind are evoked in Haydn’s joyous musical description of the universe. Influenced by Handel’s oratorios, which he heard when visiting England, he conceived the work in both English and German. A chorus of 100 voices, with The Greenwich Village Chamber Singers joining the Choral Society, along with a 30-piece orchestra, will perform a traditional English version, with some small changes to modernize the language. With the exception of Handel’s Messiah, The Creation is the most frequently performed oratorio. It is the crowning achievement of Haydn’s career.
