Friday, July 28th, the Hampton Library Fridays@Five Author Series is honored to present COLSON WHITEHEAD, one of the most celebrated authors of our time. The Underground Railroad brought him the Pulitzer and the National Book Award, the first book in 23 years to win both. It is on Oprah’s book club and Obama’s summer reading lists. This extraordinary book takes the hard history of slavery and a unique sense of imagination twisting them together into a heart-stopping story that is both past and present, fascinating and relevant. An Amazon film is in the works. DO NOT MISS THIS!
