MAY 2, Saturday 10 A.M.                                    WATERFENCE OVERLOOK LOOP (4 miles)

We’ll visit pretty Fresh Pond and take in the beautiful view across Napeague Bay from the Waterfence Overlook. After descending during the outward half of the hike, we’ll be climbing through wooded trails on our return. Meet at the Hither Hills West Overlook parking area on Montauk Highway approximately one mile east after taking the left fork of the Montauk Highway/Old Montauk Highway split.  MAY 3, Sunday 10 A.M.                                                     TREASURE INLAND (3.5 miles)

On this easy hike, we’ll visit two of East Hampton’s finest inland natural wonders: the majestic White Pine Forest, and bucolic Chatfield’s Hole.  Meet at the intersection of Old Northwest Road and Northwest Road. Leader: Jim Zajac  212-769-4311.

 MAY 9, Saturday 10 A.M.                                                        BARCELONA NECK (4 miles)

We will circle Barcelona Neck, using old Trustee Roads dating back to the 1700’s. Towering bluffs offer sweeping views of Shelter Island, Northwest Harbor, Cedar Point Lighthouse, the Grace Estate and the North Fork. Some beach walking is possible. Meet at the end of Barcelona Neck Road (near the Sag Harbor Golf Course Clubhouse). The turnoff is east of Route 114 between Swamp Road and the Sag Harbor Village boundary. MAY 16, Saturday 10 A.M.                                      STONY HILL & JACOB’S FARM (8 miles)

Enjoy a stroll through the spring greenery of Stony Hill Woods and the Jacob’s Farm Preserve. You’ll find rolling terrain and beautiful beech forest – even a rare American Chestnut tree. MAY 16, Saturday 10 A.M.                                NORTHWEST DOGWOODS (3 miles) 

Join us for this lovely springtime hike in the Northwest Woods. The white pines will surround you as we make our way to the beautiful dogwood trees. Meet at the intersection of Hands Creek Road and Van Scoy West in the Northwest Woods of East Hampton. Leader: Tina Guglielmo 631-329-2681.

MAY 16, Saturday 10 A.M.                        SHELTER ISLAND BIKE RIDE (20 miles)

We have scheduled a visit with Captain Bill Clark the Third who will reminisce about the history and colorful stories of the South Ferry. Then off for a 20-mile loop around Shelter Island.  MAY 23, Saturday 10 A.M.                                 PONDS, HIDDEN AND NEW (2.5 miles)

This hike is about fresh water ponds. We will visit two artificial man made ponds and two natural ponds one of which is hidden and only a handful of people have seen in the last 50 years. This hike must pique your curiosity. Meet at the hike leader’s home, down a long private driveway, 74 Hands Creek Road. Leader: Lee Dion 631-375-2339.

 MAY 23, Saturday 10 A.M.                                             HITHER HILLS HIKE (6-7 miles) 

Hike mainly on the lovely, hilly Paumanok Path beginning on Napeague Harbor Road where we’ll enjoy the forest of pitch pine and bayberry. Lovely bay views will also abound. We’ll end the hike on the very hilly Serpent Back Trail.   Bring food and plenty of liquids.  MAY 24, Sunday 10 A.M.          JACOB’S FARM AND GREEN RIVER CEMETERY (3 miles)

We’ll detour from our athletic loop of Jacob’s Farm to visit historic Green River Cemetery. Meet at the south side of Red Dirt Road approximately ¼ mile from Old Accabonac Highway in Amagansett. Leader: Jim Zajac 212-769-4311.

 MAY 25, Monday 10 A.M.                                       NORTHWEST HISTORIC HIKE (7 miles)

Learn about East Hampton history on this Memorial Day hike while visiting some of Northwest Woods’ most historic places. We’ll visit the Van Scoy homestead site, as well as Scoy’s Pond and Kirk’s Place in the Grace State on this scenic circuit hike. Meet on Hand’s Creek Road, at the intersection of Scoy’s Path West.  MAY 30, Saturday 10 A.M.                                                  LOST BOULDER HIKE (3 miles)

This scenic hike will include the Laurel Canyon trail as well as the Bridal Falls trail leading to a monumental glacial erratic. The hike lasts about 1½ hours.
